Bity serves institutions and large clients only. The Bity home page, read on 4 October 2026, says it "only accepts trades starting at CHF 100,000 per trade or CHF 250,000 per year". If you want to buy a small amount of bitcoin, skip this listing; the buying guide covers the retail apps.

Bity SA has its office at Rue des Usines 44 in Neuchâtel, according to the footer of the home page, which also says the company started in Switzerland in 2014. Its help article Is Bity regulated?, dated 21 April 2026, says Bity is registered as a financial intermediary under the Anti-Money Laundering Act and affiliated with SO-FIT, a self-regulatory organisation that FINMA recognises. That makes Bity an SRO member for anti-money-laundering duties, without a bank licence.

The same article says Bity works on a non-custodial basis: it does not hold client crypto or fiat assets, and clients keep control of their own wallets and keys. On its home page, Bity says it executes large orders off-exchange through counterparties and stores and processes client data in Switzerland.

You negotiate the fee. The help article What are your Bity fees?, dated 29 January 2026, says Bity agrees fees per transaction, up to 2.5% all-in, plus network and third-party execution costs, and confirms the fee before execution.

For tax, a trade of this size still ends up as a holding in your own wallet that you declare at year-end value in the wealth tax section of your return. The Swiss Bitcoin tax guide covers that, and with a holding this large you should also talk to a tax adviser.

Who it is for

Asset and wealth managers, private banks, corporations and high-net-worth individuals, the four client groups the home page names. In practice that means you move at least CHF 100,000 in one go, or CHF 250,000 over a year under the same home page rule, and you want a person to execute the order and deliver the coins to your own custody.

If that is you, plan the custody side before the trade. Start with the self-custody guide.

Who it is not for

Retail buyers. The home page, read on 4 October 2026, sets thresholds of CHF 100,000 per trade or CHF 250,000 per year, and Bity turns down smaller orders.

Monthly savers. A standing order of a few hundred francs needs a retail app; the dollar-cost averaging guide explains the approach and the buying guide lists the apps that accept small amounts.

Anyone who wants a self-service screen. The home page describes a desk where Bity executes on your instruction and you never place an order yourself.
