Sponsorship Disclosure

1. What a sponsor message is
A sponsor message is text that a company paid us to show on www.btc2h.com ("the site") or in our emails. It can appear as a slot in the monthly newsletter, as a listing on the site, or as a banner on a book chapter.
Everything else on the site is editorial content. Nobody paid for it, and nobody outside BiCatalyst GmbH approved it.
2. How it is labelled
Every sponsor message starts with a bold label line, before any sponsor text. The label names the sponsor and links to this page. The first word depends on the language of the page or email:
| Language | Label line |
|---|---|
| English | Sponsored. Paid for by {Sponsor}. {Sponsor} wrote this text. btc2h did not change its content and gives no financial advice. Disclosure policy: /en/sponsorship-disclosure |
| German | Werbung. Bezahlt von {Sponsor}. |
| French | Publicité. Payé par {Sponsor}. |
| Spanish | Publicidad. Pagado por {Sponsor}. |
A sponsored chapter carries this banner at the top: "Werbung: Dieses Kapitel wird von {Sponsor} unterstützt. {Sponsor} hatte keinen Einfluss auf den Inhalt." (in English: "Advertising: this chapter is supported by {Sponsor}. {Sponsor} had no influence on its content.")
Every link inside a sponsor message carries rel="sponsored noopener", so search engines do not count it as an editorial recommendation.
3. Who writes it
The sponsor writes the sponsor message. We check it against section 5 and against Swiss law, and we may refuse it. We do not rewrite it to make it more persuasive, and we do not present it as our own opinion.
4. Editorial independence
Sponsors have no influence on editorial content. They do not see chapters, blog posts, tax pages, or calculators before publication, and they cannot ask us to change, add, or remove anything. A sponsor message never appears inside editorial text.
This follows principle B.15a paragraph 3 of the Swiss Fairness Commission (Schweizerische Lauterkeitskommission, SLK): commercial communication must be clearly separated from editorial content.
5. What we never run
We refuse sponsor messages for:
- altcoins and token sales,
- leveraged or CFD products,
- custodial yield products,
- any financial service that needs a licence but is not on the FINMA register or a recognised self-regulatory organisation list.
6. What sponsors receive
A sponsor receives aggregate click counts for its own links, nothing more. We do not give sponsors names, email addresses, or any other personal data about our readers, and we do not rent or sell our email list. The privacy policy describes the data we keep.
7. How to complain
If you think a sponsor message is misleading or not labelled clearly enough, write to privacy@btc2h.com. We answer every complaint.
You can also complain directly to the Swiss Fairness Commission at www.faire-werbung.ch. The commission handles complaints about commercial communication in Switzerland free of charge.
8. Changes
We may update this page when our sponsorship rules change. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
