Swiss angle

Learn Me A Bitcoin comes from Wales. The About page, read on 4 October 2026, says the author, Greg Walker, is from Wales (UK). The home page says he started work on the site in 2015 and gives the education away freely, the way the Bitcoin software was given away. It is one person explaining Bitcoin; it holds no money and sells no coins, so it is not a financial service.

You will find no Swiss content and no franc prices. The site is a global learning resource, and what it teaches works the same in every country. For the Swiss part, such as how your holdings are taxed at year end, read the Swiss Bitcoin tax guide.

The home page also advertises BitcoinTracer.com, a separate tool by the same author that looks for connections between your addresses. He writes that short searches are free and complex queries cost money. That paid tool is not part of the free site.

Who it is for

Readers of the technical deep dive chapter who want to go one level deeper. The home page splits the site into four sections: Beginners, Technical, Tools and Explorer.

Programmers who learn by building. The technical section covers transactions field by field, from the TXID and ScriptSig to Taproot, and the author writes that he codes every technical article first so he knows how it works. The Tools section has converters, hash functions, key and address tools and a PSBT decoder for working with raw data.

Beginners who want plain words. The home page says the beginners section explains how Bitcoin works in as simple terms as possible, and points newcomers to its page on how Bitcoin works.

Who it is not for

People who want to discuss or ask. It is one author's site; for questions, use Bitcoin Stack Exchange.

Readers who want only the steps to buy and store coins. The self-custody guide gets you there faster.

Anyone who needs a formal course. The home page says the author has no formal qualification in Bitcoin, because none existed when he started.
