Geneva's meetup belongs to the national association. The group page on meetup.com, read on 4 October 2026, says the group is for events organised within the Bitcoin Association Switzerland in the area around Geneva, and names Jan Brzezek and six others as organisers. The association's events page lists it as Bitcoin Meetup Geneva, one of its free regional meetups.
The association is a members' club and nobody at the meetup holds your coins, so this is not a financial service.
The group is smaller than Zurich's. The group page showed 951 members and 101 past events on 4 October 2026, against 8,651 members for the Zurich meetup on the same day.
The evenings are in French, and they often have a talk. On the group page on 4 October 2026, the four most recent events were on 6 May, 3 June, 1 July and 2 September 2026, all on a Wednesday evening; three were held at the Labour University of Geneva, Place des Grottes 3, and one at Mademoiselle Fifi, Rue des Grottes 13. Their French titles covered a Coldcard seed flaw, quantum computing and earning yield on bitcoin, and a February 2026 review on the same page mentions a talk on crypto taxation in Switzerland.
On 4 October 2026 the events tab showed no upcoming event, and the past dates show gaps of one to two months, so join the group to be told when the next one is set.
Who it is for
French speakers in Geneva, Vaud and the French border area who want to talk Bitcoin in their own language. The group description says all levels are welcome.
Holders with a specific question about Swiss rules. The past topics above show the group covers security and tax, and the Swiss Bitcoin tax guide is the place to check what you hear against the ESTV year-end value.
People who prefer a talk with questions afterwards to an open café table.
Who it is not for
Anyone who wants a meetup every week. The dates listed on the group page were one to two months apart.
German speakers, who will find the Zurich meetup runs in German and English.
People looking for someone to manage their coins. Keep your keys yourself; the self-custody guide explains how.
